Hi, new to the board, new to scuba. Finished classes and OW cert is in a few weeks. I've been researching equipment and nearby dive spots here.

Oh, and I like this dancing monkey---> :monkeydan

Hi and Welcome to the Board. Lots of great diving in our area huh?

Becky

Welcome to the board! So what kind of diving is there in Oklahoma and Kansas? Should I bring my rig next time I head to the mid-west?

Aloha, Tim

LOL - OK is a little better than KS - the best I can offer my friends a nice 4 ft deep stock tank. You do have your pick of them though as there is one about every 80 acres.

Ahhhh...NO! We'll just visit you instead. Seriously, our lakes are poor vis ~ 20-30 ft on a good day, or so they tell me. But there are some interesting sites in NW Arkansas and Southwest Missouri I want to see, and possibly a couple places I've read about in North Texas.
The primary reason I'm getting certified if for tropical waters that I keep visiting and snorkleing in. I've been to Gran Cayman, Cozumel (many times), Belize, parts of Florida, St. Thomas, and just got back from St, Kitts a month ago. I figured it was time to venture under the water instead of just on top of it.

Let me know when you come over for a visit then, I'd love to show you guys around our "pond", it gets a little deeper than those stock ponds, and the vis is terrible when it drops to less than 20ft. lol... It's been nice lately for winter - 75degrees and 75ft vis, even along the shoreline!

Aloha, Tim

P.S. I think I'm heading to Alabama in December for a few days... I wonder what it's got for diving ;)

Howdy!

And welcome to SB - the biggest, the best, the fastest growing, and :D the friendliest!
