Sounds like a great investment. Going to get more information and try it out. Thanks for the information provided

I posted on my Miflex experience way back in January.

I simply do not like them. They rub on skin, and they have a weird sort of memory to them that makes them always feel like they are ready to snap into another shape instead of laying down.

I always dive a five footer, but when the only five footer I had was a Miflex, I just took it off and ran a 40" under arm hose.

Do any of you dive a 5 foot hose for a primary? the flexibility looks good for routing, but Does the MiFlex braiding irritate your neck?

Thanks...

Yes it irritates my neck, but I dive mostly in t-shirts and farmer johns.

What?

How does it irritate your neck any more than a regular hose? That's silly imo. Snap into another shape? HUH? I have a 7 footer around my neck and don't even notice it.

Wow, I'm not sure you bought what you thought you were buying.

Way off base.

I don't wrap mine around my neck (they are so flexible that I bungee it up to my tank) but I could easily see how the texture of the Miflex hose would be much more irritating against the skin than a smooth rubber hose.

Fritz - Did you ever get that Wisdom on the HP hose? (Curious as I have one too...)

Don't be a jerk. You can read that thread where a bunch of other people noticed the exact same thing I noticed:Miflex hoses won't lie perfectly flat; they have a weird sort of memory to them:
http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/regulators/271865-my-miflex-feedback.html

And everyone who dives with them on bare skin seems to comment on the feel of the braiding, at least to some degree. (Not many people have a hose wrapped around their head without a wetsuit/hood though, so most people would not notice it overall, not surprisingly.)

I dive with a 5 foot wrapped around my head- always or at least until the Miflex was my only 5 footer. But the Miflex made me stop (it was the only 5 footer I brought with me) because of the scratchy feel, and because of the memory.

Your dismissal is way off base. If you don't open your mind to people who have different experiences than you, you will never learn anything new. Don't mean to be snappy, but it seems like you either have not been reading this thread, where other people already mentioned the scatchy feel, or previous threads about the Miflex, where people have noticed the scratchy, and the memory

I bought the Miflex hoping to like it. 5 foot miflex are not cheap. But I put it back in its dry pouch. I could not even trade it for a ordinary 5 footer because other people had noticed the same problems. And then again not many people dive five footers anyway.

There are also threads of people loving their miflex hoses. Your comment of "everyone" sure is quite the generalization. My dismissal is not way off base as it is my DIRECT experience.

Not only do all my miflex hoses not rub or irritate whatsoever, I have no problem with them laying flat or having memory issues. They are more flexible than a regular hose.

I love my miflex hoses....especially the very thin high pressure hose for my SPG.

We just have completely opposite opinions/experiences and I think MOST others agree with my experience.

Sorry, you are in the 1% minority here:

You guys have almost sold me a set of these, problem is .....

I have Poseidon Xstream regulators

I'm curious as to how much they are being sold for in the US?
