Has anyone used one of these lights? Midget P-1 Hands Free Waterproof light made by
Johnson-Friedel Industries, Inc.

They had a booth @ Our World Underwater in Chicago last weekend.

Haven't used one but I'm gonna buy it. Saw it at OWU also and I think its a good option to the expensive canister lights...atleast for me.

Looks good on the website. The president replied to an email saying that it would produce a 16" circle at 10', with peripheral light beyond that circle. He also said that it produced "...about as much light as a 60W light bulb...".

The wording on that part leaves a little doubt, and that is a awful lot of light. I'm waiting for another reply before deciding whether to buy or not.

They look clever, but are expensive enough that I'll wait for others to be the guinea pigs. I just don't see how that array can put out enough light to be worthwhile, compared to other, proven solutions.

But I'd love to be proven otherwise. :)
