The MF-1 has six power-level settings, 1 (weakest) to 6.
I queried Backscatter as to the f-stop changes from 1 to 6.
From 1-2 is 1.5 f-stops.
2-3 is also 1.5 f-stops.
All other increments are 1 f-stop each.
So from 1 to 6 it is 6 f-stops total, or a factor of 64.

What's an "MF-1"? I googled it and it seems it is about drugs :)

Backscatter strobe.
Lots of posts on it.

Not as quantitative as the information you are after.
But with an Olympus tg-6 and macro photography, I am usually between 2 and 4.
Mostly at 2-3.

With a FF DSLR and 150mm macro lens at f/18, I between 4 to 6.

If you do get one, get the diffuser. It softens over-exposure.

I have a bunch of them and have tested them both in air and in the pool. My results are in line but far from identical to Backscatter's.

Kinda of weak for anything but macro
that being said the size and snoot option is a homerun

Errr
It's literally called Macro Flash 1.
It's advertised for macro.

That's like complaining that water is wet or fire is hot.
Interesting
