Hey folks,

Anyone had any experience of these guys please?

Looking at them as a possible option for a trip in May 2013, and would just like any feedback.

Alternatively/as well, any recommendations for a top-notch LDS in Playa del Carmen?

Cheers,
A.

Never heard of Mexico Blue Dreams.

I have used Abyss for the better part of 12 years. If they tell you they are going out, they will. Other shops will cancel on you if you are the only diver. Tank Ha and Playa Scuba Dive Center are also good.

My husband and I used Mexico Blue Dream for a cenote trip in March of 2011. We set it up before arriving in Cozumel, our guide met us at the ferry with weight and air, as we had the rest we headed straight out.

A very detailed briefing was conducted as we drove, and we were the first in to Chac Mool. He was very thorough in determining our skill level and comfort level, and chose cenotes that were an excellent match for us. There was only the three of us on the dives.

The dive shop then stored our gear for the rest of the day while we wandered around PDC and drove us back to the ferry at the end of the day.

We wouldn't hesitate to dive with them again.

Thank you Cathy that's great to hear and I appreciate the time taken to respond.

I've contacted Abyss and a couple of others recommended under the Mexico thread, but did quite like the response I have been getting from Mexico Blue Dream.

If you use Abyss, I'm sure you'll be happy that you did. Definitly my go to op in PDC. Dave's (the owner) is great, and he has a VERY experienced captain in Gabino that has been with him forever.

Have fun and dive safe!

Mexico Blue Dreams is a fairly new shop in the area.

I recommend Dave and Abyss Dive Center as well. He has over 15 years of experience diving in the area (the shop is one of Playa's original dive shops) and is truly knowledgeable as a result. His staff, including Gabino, have been with him for years and also are very experienced. No dropping divers off on the wrong part of the reef!

Since Dave and his staff are quite professional, you'll find he follows all industry standards and is very safety conscious. BTW, it is a standard that all cavern guides conduct a thorough, detailed briefing and have no more than 4 divers per cavern tour. Also, just like on an ocean dive, cavern sites are chosen based on divers' abilities, and experience/comfort level.

Have a great time in Playa!
