Tough going in the swamp near Alligator Bayou yesterday, but the hydrilla and hyacinth is breaking up enough to move around a bit. I ended up with a sore back and the following two pics:

Thanks, guys. The spoonbill was a fairly rare sighting in the area, and it was so pale that I didn't recognize it for what it was until it landed, which began an hour of sneaking my bateau through hyacinth to get close. Here's another spoony taken at Lake Martin, LA showing the mature color. -Clay

From last weekend or so....

The art/process of creating a great contrasty b&w image in Photoshop, still eludes me....
Think it's one of the hardest things out there as evidenced by the huge amount of articles on the subject..

Some beach shots here, can never seem to capture the waves in the right part of the frame or have a slow enough shutter speed...
