That's the thing. This was mid-day. It would be very unusual for it to be feeding then.Jamdiver:Great shot Mac, I have no idea what that is either.
But it looks like the polyps are feeding to me.

I think it's Montastraea cavernosa, the "Great Star Coral." I'll be interested in what a real coral guy saysFastmarc:That's the thing. This was mid-day. It would be very unusual for it to be feeding then.
Plus, it just didn't quite look like it was in feeding mode to me.
It has me curious... I don't think I will be able to ID it... gonna send it to a expert friend of mine in Houston.
