LOL...Jamdiver:Now i've seen it all, up to now i've always heard that Cow bay was a horrible dive site!!!
Fastmarc:Geez, those are sweet shots Jam. I driven past that wreck so many times and never taken the time to pause and have a look. I need to pause more.
LOL...
I guess at first glance, you could think that.
As you know it is a rather silty site that gets deep close to shore and has poor viz most of the time. Doesn't sound too attractive. Maybe it has to do with the nutrient rich water, but some nice unusual creatures past through there some times. You kinda get the feeling you'll see a shark any time.
Also, there is a reef there (the fishermen call it 'deep rock', we call it Lim's reef) and because it is the only one in the vicinity, you find a good variety of creatures there. So far for me, the biggest crab and biggest moray.
If the viz is good, it's not a bad site to visit. If it's bad, good practice.![]()
Did so once for my 10th and 11th dive (I think). It was nice.Jamdiver:If you get the chance you should dive Bowden in St. Thomas, last time I was there, around a yr ago I think, I saw schools of horse eye jack, african pompano, atlantic spadefish, nice coral and god knows what else..
