Just back from Malaysia where I got my first dives with my PT-023 and C-8080
I am amazed at the fantastic pictures you guys/girls get, it is much, much harder that I thought before.
Dive 1, empty housing to prove it did not leak, Ok.
Dive 2, with camera 20 mins in and 3 pics of a stone fish, where has everybody gone. A few mins trying to find them and off to the surface as per briefing.
Dive 3, Camera locks up after a few minutes underwater.
Dive 4, No Camera just enjoy my dive
Repeat 2 through 4 above for 5 days
What did I learn.
You cannot dive in a group as a photographer
I need a strobe, or maybe a flood light
I need to find out why zoom can lock up my camera
I need to lean how to use photoshop
I need to practise, practise and practise
Here is one of the very few pics I will not instantly delete.
I love the way that cuttlefish can camoflage but this one really surprised me. After I had taken my last shot I was watching him while I waited for my camera to save.
He then copied my flash. He went from his present colour to brilliant white and then back to normal in a matter of a a couple of seconds.
Has anyone else seen them do this?
