United has a one connection flight thru IAH with a 6:30am departure from PHX arriving at RTB at 1:40pm every Saturday. Around $900+ r/t - been there, done that.
What does the Hobby to George Bush transfer cost you - $50 each way? Plus the intercity travel time...I did that once but spent the night b4 at a buddy's who was going on the trip also - he lives near Hobby so I flew in there.
Avianca from here is almost a 24hr. connection - the flights I looked at were closer to $1300 next month.
I don't see what you're saving with any of your more convoluted options...
