I know it is too late for this trip, but have you ever went out on one of these dives and hooked up to the wrong place or was not able to find ANY teeth? Just wondering what your experience has been on success rates.

thanks!

Some people do better than others. I've been out with Capt. Tom & it's a great trip. If you know what you are looking for, you will do well. Heck, you can come upon a 1' deep hole that someone dug into 15 minutes before and have your best dive ever by continuing the "dig."

I guess it's kinda like slipper lobsters - once you spot them crouching in a crevasse, you'll always spot them.

But have you ever heard of no one on the entire boat getting anything at all?

No. But, as with spearfishing trips, Capt. Tom will put you where they are - if you don't get any, you might need to practice.

Meg trips with Spearit are much like taking your kids to an Easter Egg hunt. Some kids get a whole basket full & others don't get as many. Once you realize what you're looking for, you'll get a bunch more. Take a look at some of the pictures on his website.

I went once and got a gallon bag full of whole teeth and a gallon bag full of partials & whale bones, etc. That was my first time.

50 miles out ?
From where, I ask b/c depending on where you are that can be the edge of the shelf or n-s of the port your using.

Btw which boat?
I'm either going to charter a boat or join a charter the summer for Meg's
