We might be heading over to Chicago this summer and saw that they offer a medieval dinner show. Sounds like fun!

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament offers an evening of family entertainment based on the Middle Ages. Guests experience spectacular pageantry, dramatic horsemanship, swordplay and romance while feasting on a four-course banquet served in true medieval, pre-silverware fashion.

Has anyone seen the show? Is it worth the money?

It's quite enjoyable. As one would expect, the food is not fabulous. The show is a mixture of dressage, jousting, and stunt riding, and is fun to watch. We've been to the shows in a couple of different locations, and I can't remember if Chicago was the one that had the falconry or not, but that was great to see as well. If you object to things which are a bit hokey, you wouldn't like this, but if you just go to have a good time, it's an amusing way to spend an evening.

I've been to it and at first I was skeptical, but I had a good time- the Beer Buckets helped a bunch. The dinner is served sans untensils (including the soup) and I heard that they will heckle people who try to smuggle in silverware. Yes, they did have a falconry exhibit, although I can only guess that they still have it. The show is more fun in larger groups.

The show is in the suburbs, so if you are staying downtown, it might be a hike, unless you had another reason to visit the burbs.

PM when your plans are more definate or if you have any other questions. And certainly contact me if you want to do some freshwater dives!

I've been twice and enjoyed it both times. Do it easy is right though. It is out in the burbs and not downtown. It is really close to where we work though;) If you are here you have to do a dive. Let us know when you are going to be here and you can dive with some of the wrecking crew!

it is a fun show...the food and drinks are pretty tasty. Its fun for all ages. I have been a few times with friends, family and my children....all age groups seem to enjoy it. It is outside of Chicago...the western suburb of Schaumburg (sp??)

I've been to the one in Dallas, it was well worth the time and money. Very entertaining and the food, while it wasn't gourmet, was very good.

My family lives in Park Ridge and Wood Dale would that be close?

Not too sure if we have time for a dive as it is a quick in and out visit for a 70th anniversary....Ya think I can take the cold? What are the temps?

I've seen it in California...one word for you...they will tell you that you have to be there 2 hours before the beginning of the show...NO YOU DON'T! The 2 hours is a way for you to spend money on drinks and shops their shoppes...spend money, and spend more money...you can get there a 1/2 hour before the show and be fine.

Park Ridge and Wood Dale are close enough to go. It's just down the highway about 15 minutes without traffic, maybe 30 with :D. The largest mall in Illinois is just down the street from there.

The surface temps during the summer can get in the 70's(?), but the bottom temps will run anywhere from 45f to 65f, depending on the depth. A 7mm should be just right!
