Does anyone know where I can get an adapter that would allow my deco bottles to be filled off the fire department oxygen system. The O2 bottles that we fill have the rectangular top with two small holes.

Thanks
Steve

Crazy John (Northeast Scuba supply) probably has them. Call and state exactly what you need.

For example, "I need a whip which will transfill oxygen from a cylinder equipped with an CGA 870 oxygen valve to a scuba tank which has a yoke type valve". That is, if in fact that is what you need.

Or, "I need a whip which wil transfill oxygen from a cylinder equipped with a CGA 870 valve to a Scuba tank fitted with a 300 bar DIN valve".

Maybe this is what you are saying??? "I need a whip which will transfill oxygen from a cylinder equipped with a CGA 540 valve to a deco tank fitted with a CGA 870 valve".

I haven't a clue at this point but one of the above may be close.

Thank you very much. I will give them a call. Exactly what I am looking for is I have a cascade system that can fill an O2 bottle with a CGA 870 valve. I need an adapter to fill a scuba (either yoke of DIN).

Thanks again for your help!

Hey there.

In my day job I am a materials manager at a major manufacturer of gas equipment hardware (O2, welding, cutting, etc.). A significant portion of our business is O2 clean valves, whips, lines, fittings, etc. for hospitals, EMT, and all, you know.

Now that you have the fitting types and hardware that you're looking for you're going to find that many, many gas supply shops will be able to help you. Oxygen clean is not a standard that is unknown in gas equipment supply shops (at least the ones without significant damage :D).

If you're adventurous, you can get what you're looking for at many of these. You may well pay less too. I am not sure, but why limit your options. But there is that advantage of going through a diver-specific supply point in that they already have figured out this solution.

Either way, I just thought I'd throw in my 2psi.

What was that all about?

Anyway, sinai, still struggling with your description but if I understand this correctly you want a fitting that will adapt an 870 pin yoke to a scuba bottle and that SCUBA tank may have either a Scuba yoke valve or Scuba DIN valve. I never heard of such a fitting. John might be able to cobble something up. If your cascade has an 540 female valve, a whip can be made up with a 540 male on one end and a DIN male fitting on the other. Added to the order would be a DIN/yoke adapter which is the same as that supplied for DIN type SCUBA regulators. This is nothing more than a yoke which can be screwed onto the whip end when needed. Unscrew the original whip from the cascade and install the new whip for filling SCUBA cylinders.
