We will be diving again with Reef Divers in the fall so I was pleased to read the review below, recently posted on trip advisor by a woman from Austin TX, stating that the dive boat/staff are equipped/trained to respond efficiently to a medical emergency. I was glad to learn that the victim had a good outcome; does anyone know what happened and how the divemasters handled it?
Reef Divers is the dive operation for both Brac Reef Beach Resort and Little Cayman Beach Resort and I was impressed with the way they handled a non-medical incident when we dived with them last year.
The mooring line broke while the divers were in the water. The divemaster on the boat moved it to the next mooring in the direction of the current and the divermaster in the water gathered everyone on the surface, checked to make sure she had everybody, and kept us together as we floated/swam over to the next mooring. Everyone stayed calm and it was handled very well.
After we were all back on board and checked in, they went back and retrieved the float to make it easier for the government's contractor to replace the mooring line. I thought it was all done very professionally; it sounds like they also used a professional approach for this medical emergency; good for them!

…The dive masters were knowledgeable and entertaining, and provided a detailed dive site briefing before every dive. The dives were well run, on time and organized (we did three a day for six days). During our stay we also witnessed their superb handling of a diving "event" (caused by a guest's preexisting health issue); the ending was happy, and it was very reassuring to see how well prepared they were to handle a medical emergency…
