Hello:

Couldnt post to DIR because it says I dont have permission so I will try here. I rolled up my lift bag nice n tight and pushed it into my new MC storage pac. I made the valve sit in the plate groove. When I put it on... OUCH....big ouch baby - very uncomfortable. Does anyone actually use these things or do they just stow lift bags in thigh pockets? Anyhow, what is the secret fold to making a lift bag comfortable inside an MCSP????

I keep my safety sausage in my storage pack, don't have a lift bag........yet.

lay the bag out flat,,, w/ the opv face up,,,,fold the sides in towards the center so the bag is tri folded the long ways,,,, then tri fold the bag again,, towards the leash and end the folds at the base of the bag where the leash starts,,,, turn the bag over so the leash is on top,,insert the two upper corners of the bag into the mc pack,,, slide your hand up inside the top fold of the bag ,,, and stuff it all the way into the mc pack,,, attatch the leashes bolt snap to the butt d ring,,,, done!,,,

you should not feel it any more ,,, and if you need it reach around w/ your right hand ,, ondo the bolt snap from the butt d ring,,, and pull it out

Ok so it doesnt get rolled...funny, why did they build in the elastic??? Anyhow, I assume you want to fit the dump and the stem into the plate groove so it doesnt stick into your back. Hey thanks a lot folks. I'm still trying to get my buddies into DIR...working on it....

Hi Brad,
Here's a few pics that may help--I've attached them to this post, I hope they show up---....(Ed gave a nice description as well.)
My SMB was worn in my pack the whole class. I could''ve sworn we removed it, folded it, and replaced it for all to see on Sunday of the class.
Anyway, we're (your GUE instructors) happy to help w/any questions you may have, just give us a hollar!

Will this folding work with the biggest 6 foot Halcyon sausage. Seems like it is too wide to fit the way you guys are inserting the one in the above illustration...

Hi Jag,
It does for me...
I use the 6' SMB whenever I am ocean/Great Lake diving. Fold it flat and square and place it up inside the pack.

Interesting...
The pak does just not seem wide enough for me. Have it next to my computer and jsut tired the fold that was illustrated above...

I fold my repeatedly down from the top, then stuff it sideways into the pak.
