I like that site. What's the current like?
Normally it's pretty strong. I'd say up to at least 2 knots. There have been times when I had a hard time swimming against it, even near shore. Most of this video was shot on the boulder pile that covers the sewer outfall. This runs straight out from the point over a kilometer into the Strait. I'd guess I make it about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way out. My maximum depth is usually 75-80'. I don't risk swimming out to this area unless it's a day with not much current. The only current reference for this area is the Race Passage current table, but along the Victoria waterfront, the slack times can be hours different from it.
