I've got nothing but great things to say about this company. We found them on this board, and chose them based on the reviews we saw. So, we booked two shore dives in Maui.
My father and I were both certified last month specifically so we could dive while in Hawaii. We have no equipment, but the rental equipment was included in the price of the 2-tank shore dive...which was very cheap. The equipment was very high quality, much better quality than what we were used to in the open water certification. We were fortunate and were paired up with Don, the shop's owner. Also no one else booked so it was just us 3. He took the time to personally fit both of us in our equipment with the best he had.
The first dive spot we went to was Ulua Beach. Not a bad spot for our first dive, saw many many turtles, but we wanted to try something else for the second, so we asked him to take us where the sharks are. He took us to Five Graves, where we spotted 2 reef shark (5-6 feet each), 2 eels, many more turtles, etc. Not bad for a first dive!
His service was outstanding and really made our first dive a really great experience. He did all of the work, despite us trying to help him. It may be because we are new to diving and he didn't want anything to go wrong. He was very funny and took the time to explain all the fish we would see, what to look out for, etc. On the second shore dive he explained we would end up diving about a mile in total and end up about a half mile from the site. When we were finished, he walked all the way back and picked us up. Really great and funny guy. Everyone he ran into at both sites he knew, which showed us he was well respected in the diving community. He took pictures with his digital camera and I've included a few of my favorite in my gallery.
The turtles were an experience! They loved to swim with us, following us wherever we went. One in particular had a really bad itch, and we were trying our best not to touch them, but he insisted on scratching his head on his fin. Really funny! But the best part of it were seeing the sharks in the caves...now that was an awesome experience!
