Hey all,

Well back to reality from another wonderful trip to the islands.

Just wanted to give a shout out to our friends at Prodiver for an AMAZING back wall trip. Captain Paul and DM Liz provided killer service, a relaxed yet safety conscious atmosphere and two wonderful dives. If anyone is looking for a small six pack boat that will do everything they can to cater to your desires (we requested a back wall and red hill and were accommodated) look no further than Prodiver. Be aware that even though we requested a back wall way in advance, they MUST take into consideration the conditions, and the willingness of the other divers on the boat to pull it off - it's not a private charter after all.

We had 52 minutes of bottom time with 112' max depth on Back Wall starting in the middle and drifting almost all the way around to reef's end. Liz brought us up just short of where the current would have blown us off the wall and out into open water. Over at Red Hill the ocean was like a swimming pool, but under the surface the current was RIPPING! We flew over the reefs and covered a ton of distance during a Cozumel style live boat drift that was a BLAST! We saw some huge turtles, and even stopped long enough for my daughter to get her teeth cleaned by a cleaner shrimp (almost). Log In | Facebook

Our other day of Maui diving was with Lahaina divers over to Lanai. We did 2nd Cathedral and Knob hill. They did cap our bottom time this trip, but with a group of divers this large, it would be hard to let some people have 80-90 minutes of bottom time while others were up after 45. They did split us up into groups based on experience, and we were with some very good folks! However, for us it's a good trade of for the big comfortable fast boats and great staff that Lahaina divers uses for a Lanai or Molokai trip.

All in all, another wonderful trip to Maui with some really nice diving and some new diving friends!

Sounds like some good diving!! I just got back from Maui and did the Backwall and Red Hill (with Ed Robinson's) as well! :D Red Hill is my favorite dive in S. Maui and was treated to 3 Viper Morays, two together in one hole! Very cool...and lots of teeth. :eyebrow:
