hey got a guestion I have a wide face so allot of them low folum masks dont feel right so i bought a new mask its a parkway but the guy at dive shop said to use toothpaste on it first does anyone know why hum strang thanks

When masks are manufactured, they put a "mold release" on the surface, so the silicon mold releases from the skirt and glass. Just like putting flour or grease on a baking pan. That mold release is still there when the mask is sold. If it is used without being cleaned off, it will fog-up, and no ammount of anti-fog will stop it. Toothpaste is a mild abrasive and will clean the mold release off so your anti-fog solution will work properly.

What's a "hum strang?"

Be sure to scrub the inside glass of the mask with toothpaste couple days before diving. Rinse it well. If you scrub it shortly before diving, the toothpaste fumes will burn your eyes.
