Spit works great, and I think every one uses it from time to time. I personally use it all the time. The one thing that every one needs to remember about using spit in their mask is that you need to be cleaning it really well afterwards. Reason for cleaning well: BACTERIA grows in there real quick, bacteria can mean nasty eye infections. So if you aren't into cleaning your gear well after using it, don't use spit in your mask, and if you ever see that black crap growing in your mask on the edges on the lens, you better work hard to get rid of it.
