Anyone dived Chincoteague Bay (from shore) at public Landing, MD or elsewhere in MD? How about Franklin City, VA?

I Currently live on the eastern shore and i can tell you that i have not heard of any places that are good for shore diving. Though im new to scuba, i have searched all over the internet for talk of shore diving In md with little luck. I will be heading to a couple places along the shore this summer. Hopefully there will be some a few spots that will produce ok viz.
I dove off Solomons and the vis well there was no vis, the place I went in was 13 feet deep and we where at least 1/2 mile out! I heard there is some decent diving just north of Solomons near the cliffs, but you have to go from a boat, no shore dives, Meg teeth though!
