Since it has become the trend lately, I wanted to ask about another local lake. Has anyone ever been diving at Marsh Creek State Park? It is right at the Downingtown (Rt. 100) exit of the PA Turnpike.

I think that the lake flooded over a neighborhood when it was created by damming up Marsh Creek, so there should be some stuff to see there. I know for sure that there is a road that runs through it and a bunch of trees are underwater. It's also a "Big Bass" lake and holds several other species of fish including muskie, perch and walleye. Might be a fun place to dive one day if the vis is > 2 feet!

yes, we dive Marsh Creek for black water training for the fire department dive team

You need special permission to dive it. Not much to see. Vis varies depending time of year. We did some Ice Diving in January and vis was good. In summer with algae bloom, it is truely "black water"

Depth varies. Shore diving from public areas is shallow and then drops off. Lots of fish (and fisherman). There may be some items to see near the previously populated areas but I'm not aware of them. A concern is the "fish boxes" sunk by DNR. These fish habitats are cis-crossed wooden 2x2 s that ring the shore. The pose an entanglemt hazard
