Hello everyone,
Newbe here and first post. I wonder if anyone can interpret the markings on a steel tank I bought a few weeks ago. Visually tank looks very clean inside and out. Needs Hydro.

FABER 84/088/105 ARIA 220/330 BAR 18.0 LITRI 19.4Kg

Best I can tell is...
_Manufacture Date: 1984
_18 liter capacity
_220/330 BAR - this is working pressure? Does this translate to 3190/4780 PSI? Why two different values? (220/330)

Thanks for the feedback!

Welcome to ScubaBoard!

You have some good questions, but your post is not likely to catch the attention of folks who can give the best answers since it is in "Site Support" which is mostly for issues about the software that runs the board itself.

There is a forum on Tanks, Valves and Bands under the larger heading of Equipment that may be a better place for your questions.

Since the software gurus do check over here, one of them may move your thread to the appropriate place. You may wish to expedite this by calling it to their attention using the "Report" button on the lower left side of each post. When the dialog box comes up, just type your request. This button can also be used to get attention to inappropriate or offensive posts.

I'm not a tank expert, but I think the 220/330 is working pressure/test pressure since most pressure vessels (tanks) are tested at 150% of working pressure.

Good luck getting even more info on your new tank!

Bottom line: With no DOT markings, you will not be able to get it filled in the USA. The rest does not much matter.

FABER - mfg

84/088/105 - 84 = 1984, 088 = batch, 105 = number in batch

ARIA = ??

220/330 BAR = working pressure/test pressure

18.0 LITRI = water capacity

19.4Kg = weight

Given the the working pressure, capacity, and weight are in metric. I would guess that the cylinder was made for usage in Europe. As such, as awap said you will not be to get the cylinder officially requalified which means that the cylinder is srape metal unless you are filling it yourself.

Given you just bought it I would try to get your money back cause you got hoodwinked.
