From our last trip to South Africa we were delighted to see these Maggellan or Jackass Penguins while in Cape Town.
 
Those are some cool pics. The second one is the most interesting. That penguin going into the surf sure looks like some divers I have seen, wondering if the surf is too rough to dive/maybe too rough/probably can handle it/awwh what the heck!!

OTOH, is that a dead one in the sand? :(
 
No, the one in the sand is not dead just resting near a nesting area.
