Trident also sells a silicone strap that fits the X-Vision strap holder. The adjustment points aren't as precise as the one that comes with the mask, but I didn't need that much fine tuning with my mask fit, anyway.

Of the masks I tried in the store I found the X-vison a comfortable fit and it was easy to get a grip on my nose for clearing. I have a full beard and moustache but keep them v. short and have had very little leakage with the X-vision.

Cheers,

K.

The Aqualung Mythos is what you should be looking at. That mask is fantastic! The best I've ever owned for sure. Ultra light weight, lowest volume, great seal, exceptional field of vision, great strap and buckle system, easy clearing, and damn cool looking as well. I had chronic fogging proiblems with an X Vision and none whatsoever with the Mythos. You really don't even know it's on. Great mask!

Nice thing about Tusa they are the industry leaders when it comes to mask technology. They by far use the highest quality of material liquid crystal silicone. I will only dive tusa masks.

Good luck

Of course it really just depends on your particular facial structure.

I tried the x-vision for a little while. I loved the range of vision and light weight of it.

Unfortuntately I could not stop it from leaking, though it passed the sniff and hold in place test in the dive shop. I ended up taking it back. If it had sealed better I would have kept it. The nose pocket was also a bit narrow--again if it fits you then it probably is a great mask.

As for me, I have gone back to my Oceanmaster Z2. Not the same range of vision, but comfortable, sturdy, low volume, nice strap, and best of all a great fit for me!

I have the X-vision. It is the dryest mask that I have ever used. the field of vision is very wide, so wide that sometimes the bottom looks curved. Volume is very low making it easy to clear.

However, the bottom line with masks is that it is really a hit or miss thing. the X-Vision will work fine for some and not for others. So, the visualator or Cressi Big Eyes might work better for others. Fortunately, masks don't cost a fortune.

Leadweight,
You are correct in your assessment. Mares makes good masks, but try as I might, their masks just don't fit my face. Tusa masks do, however and that's what I wear. I bought the Visulator last year and after a 100 dives or so, it's been a great mask. It seals well and clears easily. I also like it's lightweight. Matter of fact, I only have to clear it maybe once a dive. The view through the Visulator makes a normal mask feel like you're looking through a keyhole. Bottom line: If the Tusa fits your face it's a great mask. I would recommend it to someone looking to upgrade from their current mask. :palmtree: Bob
