Zak regardless of the dryness that I get from the abyss, I still love it and would replace it with another abyss if I should have to ever replace it. Still my fav Reg

You are rite, it doesn't really matter that much. Just feeling itchy and if there's one easily available, I thought, why not?

Can I try breathing through the reg that is connected to the tank without going into the water to find out whether it's hard or not? Or is there a measurement device that the service tech shop should have (eg DP gauge w/ vacumm pump or something like tat?) to verify this?

Regards,

Zak OHara:
Ok, I get it. I would definitely take it to the service tech and have him work both second stages. The metal will breathe too hard, and the XL will be too easy. As for the second stage cover... well, I don't know about Malaysia, I know Larry @ scuba toys could get his hands on one. This is a "part", so I would think your lds in Malaysia should be able to at least get one. At the end of the day it doesn't really matter does it? As long as you review your equipment with the person you are diving with pre dive, color shouldn't really matter. It's up to you.

best,

Zak,
Brought the reg to the LDS yesterday and they have retuned it for me. In fact, they also showed me how it was done and darn, it's very easy. Anyway, he also explained and showed me how to 'wash' the internal of the reg for proper storage - if I dare....hehehe. Best service I ever received. *thumbs up*

I notice that he was using a 'measuring' ruler when he was tuning the prim. Do you think I can get my hands on one of those stuff??? hehehe

Regards,

Jason. Im glad to hear you have your equipment all squared away. Sounds like your lds if also very helpful. Maybe they have an extra ruler laying about???

Best,
