I bought a proton ice & octo. , and I am happy with it.(made 3 dives with it in the local lake)
it is light, small, easy breathing, comes with a soft flexible hose.

Anyone else who used one? experiences?

Kinda wierd to ask people for opinions of your reg after you bought it, eh?

I use the ice and proton octo too. Breaths easy. Careful on the soft hose, it kinks easily. Mine kinked on the top end where the hose reinforcement ends. So remember to wind huge circles when you keep your reg.

don't you know I am the wierdo of the neighborhood? :jestera: ... actually I just wondered if anyone else on this board uses the same reg... I was interested to get and share some opinions and experiences, not to get a suggestion what to buy...
Strange thing is, even though I think the proton is a great reg, nearly no one have it in the place I live... only a few shops sell mares stuff...

Thanks for your input, I will take care. Never thought about that. Had an old seac sub reg before, and I am happy to got rid of the hard hose... Is the hose that kinked useable now or broken?

I'm still using it... no point changing it as the pressure isn't very high. It may start to balloon after... say 100 dives?, will change then.

But just a warning, if the LP hoses do burst, you are going to lose tank gases much faster than when a HP hose burst. Want a feel of how fast it'll go? Go down, hold on to your purge regulator valve to simulate a free-flow, have a look at your SPG. You should be able to see it move...
