I am looking to buy a mares proton ice reg soon. Just curious about some input if any of ya'll dive it, pros and cons. Want ot use it every where and not have to worry about cold/warm h2o or any of that jazz, also want it to last forever lol. Thanks for the input.....

Use the search feature, we've covered this myriad times. Bottom line is that everyone who has one likes it. I've had mine in water from 40ish to high 80's temp wise, and to depths deeper than I care to admit and it breathes great.

Nobody makes junk these days, and just about any top end reg will work great.

I love mine...Have never really used it in cold water though...:)

I like mine, mind you I haven't had many other regs (just the rentals).

I've used it down to 40 degrees well below 100', and it breathed really nice.

I saw another thread where someone mentioned they were being discontinued, though. Apparently they will be pushing the Proton Metal, which is supposed to be very similar.

YMMV.

A.
