Has anyone had any expreience with the Mares Origin Wetsuit? I'm looking for a 5mm or 3/5mm wetsuit for diving the tropics. I currently use a 3mm and I get cold in some areas. I'm looking for a versatile suit. Also, I'm looking for something that has a lining of some sort to minimize contact with neoprene (I think I might have a skin allergy to it). The Mares site said that it has a plush lining, I'm wondering what this lining is made of. Also, I considered the isotherm but that seems like overkill and its probably pretty bulky for traveling. Any other suits you can recommend would be great!

Hi there,

I haven't seen the Mares suits, but I have a 7/5 Pinnacle Elite suit. It's lined in the torso & upper legs with merino wool (the non-scratchy type of wool). It's a great suit, and they also make a 5mm version, the Fusion. The merino helps insulate you so you'll be warmer, too. Check out their website at: www.pinnacleaquatics.com These suits are very well-made and worth taking a look at.
