I have a Mares first stage, last years servicing was not well so i decided to do this year the service on my own

no special tools needed for this first stage, BUT
I have some trouble to get off the Locking Nut i apply a lot of force and it does not move...... i dont want to break anything so.... is this nut this hard to get off?

I have the manual and they talk about to add 100 PSI to the body to make it easy to move it is this mandatory?

thanks in advance SB community

Normally you just need a bigger adjustable wrench to loosen the nut (number 17 in the schematics). It might be over torqued, but you can apply quite some pressure without risking damaging anything.

I don't know what for you might need 100 psi pressure to move the locking nut, but I know that Mares recommends to push out the diaphragm with an airgun, maybe that's what you're referring to.

See that you get the 1st stage fixed in a vise with a vise mounting tool or a cut off high pressure hose end.

Look for an extension like a metal tube, put it on the wrench, check that the wrench fits tight, lean with your body against it and start to apply more and more force. It should come off.

Good luck!:)
