Does anyone have the Mares Dragonfly? If so have you ever had a problem releasing the intergrated weights?
I went on a dive today the first in almost 2 years and at the end of the dive i tried to take the weights out and they would not come out. Kind of scary if i was in the water and really needed to dump.

Are they MRS or the older version?, How much weight in the pockets? :06:

Sorry to hear about that...
Why did you need to dump weights?

He didn't write he had to dump weights. He only wrote, he was trying to take them out at the end of the dive if I'm not mistaken.

I think id prefer incredibly hard to dump weights underwater.

Annoying on the surface when you have to remove them to hand up to the boat though.

Yup, now that I reread, see what you mean.

I used a Mares Jacket for a month, a year or so back. The release was not too bad for me. You had to push the button and pull along the track on the model I was using. However, I found that getting the pockets back in was a real pain. You had to rethread a plastic button into the track. I noticed that the thread was shorter on mine than on my buddy's, who had a better model Mares. His was much easier to thread back into the treack.

That whole pocket design was one of the issues that steered me away back then.

Thanks for the input and sorry I could not reply to some questions I was in Aruba on vacation.

I have ten pounds in each front pocket. The BC is only 2 years old and only been used about 4 times. The weights being hard to take out is an understatement I could not get them out at all. This not very comforting to a new diver.

Anyway I think I may change my BC to a Zeagle Ranger it seems like a better setup than i have.
