I'm in. GO STANFORD!!!! I would have picked them as a winner if it was a spelling bee.

Ha. It's gonna be Washington over Stanford in final for the championship.

Hey Gedunk, my hubby and I went and saw that opening round game (6 seats from the floor on the end I might add :biggrin and Florida A&M just might give Kentucky a run for their money. These guys are short but they're quick and they jump like kangaroos! I don't think they can beat KY (dad was from KY so I'm biased) but it should be a good game.

I've decided my husband is nuts. His team is the University of Dayton Flyers, he even has season tickets but that's not why he's crazy. The Flyers are playing in Buffalo which is about a 6 hour drive from here. He got tickets for the whole weekend of games there. He's driving out with a friend on Thursday to watch the Thursday night game then driving home on Friday. If the Flyers win he'll drive back to Buffalo on Saturday with me in tow (I have to work Thurs. night) then drive home Sunday. THAT'S what makes me think he's nuts!

I love this time of year. When it comes to sports, it doesn't get any better than march madness IMO. As far as the nuts part goes, its called madness for a reason.

You rarely get far by betting on a sentimental fav unless they happen to be a Kentucky or Duke and the like. In the same breath, very few (including myself) picked Butler to go as far as they did last year or picked Kent State to get as far as they did the year before or Gonzaga the year before that ... etc! Its madness i tell you!

I usually try to pick too many upsets and get hammered in the pools. I just never seem to guess the right upsets. Fortunately i'm not a betting man.

If Dayton wins they'll play UConn on Saturday and even my husband wouldn't pick UD to win that one. They used to play DePaul in season games, they've got a shot at winning that one if they're on their game. UD had an "off" day when they played Xavier for the A-10 title, it was a good game but UD made too many mistakes to pull off the win.

Actually, I have UD over Uconn....Xavier was having a hell of an A10 tournament....UD wasn't impressive in last year's tourney, and they need a good performance.

And Ber, this wouldn't be the first time I've been smacked...but you just left that one wide open. :laugh:

Consider the Big Ten ....

these teams will do better than expected this year IMO. One team in particular has a very good chance of going far in this years tourney.

Who says i was talking about MSU?

Just for reference though, i like MSU in round one, quite a shocker i know. Its as good or better of a lock than Daytons chances in round one IMO.

I have Western Michigan taking out Vandy in round 1. I also have MSU to win, but the Zags will pop Mr. Izzo's bubble again this year (I think Gonzaga took out the Spartans a couple of years ago).
