I need someone to send me down to check this list. I think someone must be stuffing the ballot box.

I'll go with you cv. We can spend part of the day searching for the "lost tequilla" bottle and the rest taking a census.I know one thing for sure..I'm gonna be on the March list next year !!!

Do y'all know if they have an objection to fishing off the docks/bank in coz?

I think as long as you are outside of the marine park it is all good. I have seen locals fishing from the shoreline. It is POSSIBLE that you must first purchase a license but somehow I doubt it. Others may be able to chime in for certainty, but my first sense is it isn't a problem outside of the park.

:grinbandit: :gator: It's official... a St. Patricks Day Happy Hour! :froggy: :teafortwo:

Here are the details:

Where: Wet Wendy's (Wet Wendy's Margarita House & Restaurant, Cozumel Mexico - Directions on how to get here) Just off the north side of the square in San Miguel...

When: Saturday, March 17th 7:00ish (very informal, show up when you like)

What: Good food, Green Margaritas, and Great Conversation.

RSVP: Nothing formal here, but it would nice to post on the thread if you are coming so I can tell "Wendy" how many to expect.

So Far:
MMM
Prop Joe + (group)
KuJhawk91

I'll most likely be there since Wet Wendy's is my usual water hole but I wasn;t sure if Kelley's was doing anything special since they're technically an "Irish bar" :)

Good deal. Maybe we can start at Wet Wendy's and then migrate over to Kelly's for some green beer/irish "culture".

good lord I gotta get going to meet my dive buddy in four hours to catch the plane at lake charles......I'm bouncing off the walls!

Updates, updates, updates!:D

Gosh, I guess that would be right, especially if someone just stared at the temp all day...ha ha ha. That wouldnt be me, of course, cause I cant read good. However, in case my smart dive buddy wanted to know what the temp was at different parts of the Caribbean at different times of the year, well, now THAT wouldnt be boring...he tells me. So if anyone knows a site for such a comprehensive and timely look at those kind of temps, I'l like to know, regardless how boring it would be to me.

While there are locals that list water temperature on their sites - it's mostly fiction. One popular site lists 'today's water temp — 79 degrees' (every day of the year!). Look at the code behind the page and it's static HTML — not linked to a database.

There's a NOAA buoy about 100 miles east of Cozumel that reports water temp — at the buoy!

I go to Cozumel about 3 or 4 times a year. I start watching the buoy just before I head for Cozumel. Then I check the actual temp in Cozumel. I've been doing this for years. For reasons that I can't explain, the temp at Cozumel dive sites has consistently been 2 or 3 degrees cooler than what got reported at the buoy. Hmmm? Last year, NOAA took out the old 12 meter buoy and replaced it with a 3 meter buoy. That shouldn't make a difference, but maybe the old buoy had some equipment that wasn't working correctly?

As I write this, the temp at the buoy is 79.5 F. Looking through years of dive logs, I can tell you that 79 F is the average water temp for March.

Here's the buoy:
NDBC - Station 42056

Have fun.

Well if I can get my dive buddy awake, we can get this show on the road to the airport.
