and the ramp was still great. I got talked into doing another scallop trip today and this is it for a while. I miss going on a bug hunt. I was lucky enough to get one nice bug out on the sand. I got a nice little hello when I reached into the bag of scallops for my pelican float (having completely forgotten about the bug). OUCH!

I'm free on weekends if you ever want to do bug hunting. Also when I have done a scallop dive we would shuck the scallops into a bucket (two reasons). first it keeps the gulls away better keeps the secret spot and also on the second dive drive to were your next dive is and before suiting up dump the stuff overboard. When you get to the bottom some of the bugs will have come out to eat. easier pickin's:thumb: . I don't mind early dives either let me know.

Weekends are a last resort:D

Winter Island is a great launch ramp. It's wide enough for two boats and it is completely accessible at low tide. It's $5 for launch. If you were to drive in without a trailer it's $15 for non-
Salem residents to park!

Like any salt water ramp at low tide you definitely want 4wd to pull out in the slime.

They are also open from 7 am to 10 pm.

for non-residents. Still haven't figured that one out but since I'm always using my boat, it's not an issue:D I also have 4WD so that's no problem either.

I love the ramp:)
