Manufacturer's Warranty

How important is it to have manufacturer's warranty on dive equipment like regs, bcds, etc.? I found some equip I really like on leisurepro, only to find out that they don't include the manufacturer's warranty. They said they offer thier 'own warranty' but I'm a little wary of this type of thing, what if the company goes under or there is some fine print preventing me from fixing a piece of gear, not to mention shipping it to them and them shipping it to a third party for servicing/repairs. What do you guys think, are my worries unfounded?

Buy from www.scubatoys.com or www.scuba.com. They will both match leisurepro's prices and since they are authorized dealers you can get the full manufacturer's warranty.
