Hi all,

Have been playing around with the Sony Nex-7 for the past month and been loving it but having problems setting manual white balance underwater, can do it no problem above water but doesnt matter what i use white card, grey, sand or bluewater it just sais error and sets at like 9900K.

I realise that this wont matter when shooting raw but i am mainly interested for video.

thought this was just me but a friend who has the Nex-5N is having the same problem, any thoughts?

anyone having better luck then me???? If so How?

thanks in Advance

i use my dive slate when i did set manual wb. make sure it focuses and the white takes up most of the frame. sometimes i got that error if it didnt focus.

but now because i use a strobe i just set the white balance to 5000k, same as the strobe output.

i will check the focus more carfuly next dive.
Unfortunately setting the temp to that of my strobes doesnt help video, with the photo's i can just set Whit balance in post production but not as easy with video

I have the same exact problem on both my Nex5 cameras and couldn't figure it out yet.

That was only done at depths between 5-10 meters

This happens with my A55, and no doubt will happen with my A65.

The value is still registered and used, it's just outside what the camera expects in "normal" use.

my housing is the nauticam.

with the strobe and WB set to 5000k, no problems at all.

if any, i just do small amounts of editing with lightroom.
