Any chance you could post a picture of that setup? Sounds good...

There's a lot of pictures in DIY. I don't know how to attach them.

If I am understanding you correctly, simply crimp the buckle around the post a bit. Basically making the hole that the post goes through a but smaller. I am thinking that mine had something on the instructions about this.
I did use a zip tie behind the strap to take out part of the play.
If all else fails, call Manta!

No, if all else fails, reDIY.
Just remember, Opie, how proud you'll feel when you fix the problem yourself.

For the S hooks.

Run out and buy 2 SS s hooks, I used the medium size at Home Depot.
Unscrew the fancy Manta attachments, you only need the spring.
Place the S hook around the fin post and crimp the s part down so that it will not come off.
Put the spring on the other end of the S hook and crimp that down too. Be sure to crimp the hell out of it. Even a small gap can let the spring escape during a dive (Oops!).
Repeat for the other side.

I just discarded the Manta attachment stuff. It looked cool, but the S hooks are bullet proof.

OK, I thought I'd post my current solution. I just took a short bolt, 2 washers and a nut and secured them in the larger hole section of each side of each of the straps. Piece of cake, very secure, and easily interchangeable, repairable, swappable, etc.

So, I'd recommend Manta straps over Booger's straps because they'll arrive in a timely fashion and work very well.

Nice and secure fix Humu. I like the look of the post clips anyway. My suggestion was going to be to squeeze the clips to close the hole a little like mentioned above, but your solution is more secure. See, always room for improvement.

I'm glad to hear they worked out for you Humuhumunukunukuapua'a. I still think it sounds like a lot of work to fix a problem that shouldn't exist in the first place, especially for what Manta charges for their straps, but hey - if that's what you want to do, go nuts, dude. :)

I bought Boogies straps over 1 1/2 years ago and made around 100 dives on them.
Attaching was a piece of cake, I didn't have to fix around on poorly designed strap attachments. They work very well (I wouldn't know what should not work there) and arrived in a very timely manor as well. I bought them through eBay.
So, if you want to make your life complicated and you enjoy fixing things that shouldn't be fixed in the first hand, than you should buy the Manta straps. On the other hand, if you want to have simple and reliable straps that you don't have to think how to attach them to your fins-get boogies
