Hello all i just recieved a news letter from Amazing SCUBA diving news issue 8.

Here is most of the article:

``In a joint statement announced today it was made clear that ALL Canadian and American divers north of the Mason Dixon line MUST now be Ice Diving Certified.

While many divers were surprised by this move the official response was quite firm.

Board Chairman - Jorge Olithabal Kieva Elcano stated Quote: " I always thought that was all they did up there anyway. I was quite surprised to discover that we haven't made the ice diving certification part of the Open Water program.

That of course changes today and all of us gathered here will be incorporating ice dive training for the gringos up north "

For more information on what areas fall under the cold water plan - divers are advised to contact their local dive shop immediately and stop all diving activities until this training is completed.

New C-Cards with the "Icicle Logo" are being printed as training is completed and it shouldn't take more than 3-4 years to get everyone up in the "Great White North" back into the water.``

Is this for real? If so, is my trining going to be paid for by these agencies?

We all see through this one, "Icicle Logo" :rofl3: I do believe there is a tropical fish on the ice diving card
Ber :lilbunny:

Some people will fall for anything.

And what date is it exactly?

............:rofl3:

Glad I live so far south. And where did my "hot chick" avatar go? It's still April 1st! (and it's been a loooong time since anyone called me "hot". Good to hear even if the gender was wrong...sigh.)

Why has a burning bird got anything to do with april 1st?

Mine is still showing and started doing it on March 31st.

Way ahead. I got my ice training in the military. Some beers (think Heiniken) just need to be in a cooler full of ice to be eminently drinkable. If you throw some salt in there so much the better.

Now that I am older and more refined, a cube or two in a glass with some Glen Fidditch makes for a fine SI...
