We went in January with Bird's Underwater and they were great. Very professional operation, they have an enclosed boat (warmer) and they leave a little earlier than the others which is nice because it can get PACKED in King's Bay. The manatees know to stay right behind the floats that mark the limits where you can't swim. Usually only the curious babies come out to swim and they get mobbed by people wanting to pet them. They also took us to Three Sisters which is another nice area. I don't know if you'll see many in October though.
