you're kidding. i just rented a car and about to call American Pro first thing and book a full weekend package, including a stay at the Seagrass resort there. they are both closed now.
i was planning on snorkeling with the Manatees on friday morning, then an afternoon dive at Rainbow River. then on Saturday, we would hit Blue Grotto and Devil's Den. and maybe Sunday one more morning dive or manatees again.

i get into FL around noon and will need to finalize/book the trips. not much time to research, gotta pack bags and bags of gear!

Your plan sounds great, except I would choose a different company to charter with. Viz won't be brilliant while snorkeling with the manatees lots of peeps kicking stuff up but you shouldn't be bothered by the viz as you will be concentrating on the manatees.

Who did you do your charter with Miss. For my cave class I used Birds Underwater.

Nice Report and Pics. We were there sunday, and only saw one manatee. Too warm still i think.

:hmmm: Were you at the same spot? We had about a dozen! Also, you must go very early to catch them.

If you only saw one manatee there, YOU MUST'VE HAD YOUR EYES CLOSED!! We went about a month ago when it was warmer still and had plenty then. There really seems to be a resident herd that live there yr round. The majority move between King, 3 sisters, and just outside 3 sisters in a cove alot though.

Granted I couldnt see much as whoever was there in the morning had destroyed the spring. We also went in the afternoon.

It doesnt take much to stir up the big spring, I know.
