I can't dive with you guys because I don't have a night certification. I'm interested in learning and would like to watch what you do. Is that okay?
Hello L82Scuba, and welcome to diving and The Beach Crabs. As far as night diving, I suggest you dive during the daytime for awhile. This way you will get the experiance, confidence, and learn the divesites. Night diving, for the first time to some, can be an awesome experiance. It is quite different from diving in the daytime, and requires you to be on your toes, when it comes to navigation, surroundings, buddy awareness, and safety. A Nightdive Specialty class is good. They teach you all the procedures, and safety practices you need, as well as, you get to do a couple of nightdives with a trained, and hopefully competent diver, for your first couple nightdives. If you don't do a class, make sure you are diving with a safety minded, rescue trained, experianced diver, that can show you the safe and correct way to do your nightdive.
As I said before, I suggest you come out with us on a few daydives first, learn and feel pretty confident with beach entry and prcedures, then, go for the night dives. Like you said, it would be great experiance to come out and watch a night dive. You will be able to hear the dive briefing, see all the safety practices involved, and meet some really fun divers to hang out with.
When you are ready to do your night dives, I will be happy to dive with you, and show you the amazing underwater world at night.
I look forward to meeting you soon,
Rick
