Has anyone booked a liveaboard in the Maldives using divingmaldives.net? The prices listed there seem awfully good (maybe too good to be true  ). We are trying to book a honeymoon for April 08 to the Maldives. We're thinking of a combination resort and liveaboard. Any suggestions on Maldives travel experts here in the US that I could contact would also be much appreciated.

We used Reef and Rainforest because they were able to get us good airfare. You can probably just book directly with the boats they have advertised. Maldives liveaboards are very cheap compared to other areas of the world. We went on the Baani Adventurer and it was $1250 for a 7 day trip in a suite. I checked out the prices they had on the site you went to and they sound about right.

I notice that most of the LOB in maldives are either 7days or 14 days trips. is there by any chances any operators that do only 4D or 5D kind of LOB ?

Not That I have seen, But thats a long trip for only 4 or 5 days.
On a 7 day trip your diving 5 days!

I never saw that one! There Are at lease 50 Liveaboards in the Maldives, Some are very old, and can't be very nice!

I looked back for it and found it on scubadiving.com, in their trip reports section.

They discussed the Baani Explorer.

They also might have good tips on conditions.

Has anyone gone on this boat? what other liveaboards do you recommend for the Maldives? how about a mid price hotel? when you leave from Singapore in the morning can you get to the Maldives that day?

thanks
tarzana
