Before I leave home:

• Wetsuit
• Vest

• Dive Booties
• Fins (both)
• Ensure mask is clean, if not, wash thoroughly
• Snorkel
• BCD
• Weights in weight bag
• Weight Belt
• Weight Pockets
• Regulator set
• Tanks in car
• Tank O-Rings are in good condition
• Ensure tanks have full air (do at shop)
• Ensure regulator is working, and SPG reads correctly
• Ensure BCD holds air and deflates with dump valves
• Ensure BCD can be orally inflated and deflated through hose
• Rash Guard
• Towel
• Swimsuit
• Logbook (and pen)
• DSMB and reel
• Slate and Pencil
• Mask Defog
• Knife (sharpen if needed)
• Zipper grease
• Light
• Spare mouthpiece/zipper ties
• Reef Safe sunscreen
• Certification cards if taking charter
• Tarp
• Water Bottle
• Afrin if needed
• First Aid Kit
• Strobe
• GoPro is charged with spare battery
• GoPro case including all accessories
• Hat for sun
• Gear retractors/holders

When I set up gear:

• Ensure tank is turned on
• Ensure gauges are oriented correctly and work
• Ensure regulators are working
• Make sure mask seals
• Ensure BCD is hooked up correctly to tank
• Defog mask
• Attack snorkel
• Put wetsuit vest on
• Put wetsuit on and keep around waist
• Put weights in weight pockets
• Put weight belt around waist
• Put wetsuit boots on
• Put hood on (if using hood)
• Attach dive knife to thigh
• Put DSMB in pocket with reel
• Ensure lights work, both tank and handheld, turn on before you get in the water, and LEAVE on
• Ensure GoPro is on
• Understand where buddy’s belt releases are, familiarize myself with their equipment
• Understand, will buddy donate primary or octopus?
• Explain to my buddy how I will donate my primary, and use my integrated inflator

Your list looks mighty good, and you ask for suggestions. Don't want to step on any toe's here & maybe i missed it in the dive list. BUT ! 1 huge PRE dive trip check list for me that i didn't see was. CHECK YOUR VOLTAGE @ DIVE SHOP OR YOURSELF ON YOUR "PDC" ! I LIKE A FRESH NEW BATTERY N BOTH MY DIVE COMPUTERS BEFORE EACH DIVE TRIP ! It could save your next dive trip. Hope this helps for all divers safety!

I find that if I pack and repack three or four times before a trip, I manage to get everything I need together.

People who are lucky enough to own a Perdix just have to make sure they have AAs

The proper order is watch, wallet, spectacles, and testicles. this way you can make the sign of the cross as a memory device. That is, of course, you're from the 19th century and carry your watch on a chain and your wallet in your breast pocket.

Packing everything for my usual shore diving by car is routine for many years, so no list needed-- everything goes in it's place at home ready for the next dive day. I've only done one actual dive week vacation, but for non dive specific trips (which do usually include diving), I always unpack from one and immediately begin putting stuff aside for the next one regardless of how long it will be before I go. This almost always works-- except one year I forgot the pillows for the trailer. Haven't done much of that anyway last 2 years with Covid.

I actually don’t have a computer! Full analog for the time! Mostly doing REC dives well within NDL so I just use dive tables

- DAN insurance
- Spare kit (extra o-ring, mask strap, fin strap .. you know .. spare parts)
- PLB (set to appropriate frequency)
- and of course my DRYFOB for my car keys if I'm shore diving

- you can surely extend this to include bug spray .. ad infinitum. Some of us are just list people ... I think it's my nervousness before the trip. of course, arriving without my prescription mask would also suck!

Embarrassed to say I would struggle with dive tables .... my Brother bought me a Suunto when I was newly certified. Took the drama out of deciding on and buying my first computer. I've since updated it but .... you should probably think about a computer .
