I have an Ikelite housing and my eyesight is getting older!
Is there or do you recommend a magnifier or something else that would allow me to read the small camera screen better? Short of getting bifocal mask.

I can recommend the UN LCD Magnifier. And Ike may still have some rails left that you (or they) can screw onto the back of an Ikelite housing. email ike@ikelite.com for availability. You may wish to email divervision for the magnifiers:

They are getting harder to find now that compact cameras are offering larger LCD's.

Prior to Ike offering the rails, I came up with a diy project that can be accessed by following this link:

The advantage to the magnifiers is that it allows you to see all the data displayed on the LCD without having to tilt your head way back when the mask diopters are installed at the lower portion of your dive mask.

Now you've got me curious again. Guess I'll contact Ike and see what he can do for me. I do have the diopters in my mask already which help me read my gauges and computer screen ...but I can see the advantage to the magnifier on the housing !!

I've got time. Next planned dive trip is May 2007
