"Magician" Open Boat..Friday(s) Aug 1 and 29

Report for 8/1....

Conitions were very nice. Vis 40+. water temp 76/surface -62@80ft. The Magician was a very clean...nice boat. Crew was friendly, and a good safe time was had by all. Myself and Aly had 3 great dives, thanks for being a great dive buddy!!. The first dive we saw some 200lb range Black sea bass, plus a nice 5' Angel Shark. Here's some pics!! There are still openings for the 29th trip!!

Thanks Rick....I feel a lil more confident with the cam each time. From my understanding, and please correct me if Im wrong, that the next couple months are the best time of the year condition wise for Catalina?

Yes, generally speaking. But with the warmer water, we also get algae bloom, and a few other conditions, which lower the vis. The good conditions are off and on year round, and conditions change quick. I, myself love the winter months.

Now that I think about it I have seen some pretty good shots from the winter months. I look forward to it Thanks Rick.

OK...last report from the August Catalina dives Me and Aly hit the Magician again on last Friday. The conditions were very nice...great vis, and warm water. All in all a very nice day! Here's a slideshow, a compilation of the August dives

This first pic is a little weird to me though....tell me what YOU think! In the first (orig) pic...I noticed something above Aly's fin.... it's whitish...

When I blew it up....I dunno???...I cant tell WHAT it is???? Thoughts?????

I know it sounds weird but look like the reflection of the kelp. Some times it can take on a white apperence. I have it in some of my photos also. Also nice photos seems like the fish is just always a little big to fit in the frame
