Hi,

I have been diving a lot in the phils over the last two years but never went to Mactan. I am looking online at all the diveshops and I see a lot of beginner/day divers type of shops with good reviews.

Any shop that you would suggest for an advanced diver? I will be in cebu for a week.

Thanks,

JC

The problem is finding a operator which is NOT heavily depend on certain national!
Dive sites vary from very ordinary to pretty good but unfortunately the better one are quite a distance away and operators only go there if there is enough demand.

Good luck.

Did you find any good boats suitable for advanced divers in Mactan?

I dove at Shangri-la Scottys. We just did a drift dive north of the coast drifting south. We drifted back to the resort. I wasn't expecting much but as it turned out it was a very memorable dive with lots of nudis. A scorpion fish, giant frog fish and lastly a blue ring wow! I almost passed on diving as I had come up from Dauin and Malapascua. Truth be told, this was the highlight dive (don't see blue rings everyday). The Threshers were also very cool 😎 in Malpascua.

Btw my wife and I had our own DM so we didn't need to deal with what I call vacation divers.
