When I use the PMLA adapter with the flat port, I use a short section of cave line to attach it to the rig- just enough to get it out of the way, but not so much that it dangles onto the bottom. That said- the best way to go is the macro adapters from Reef Wreck & Critter. They have two options for the PEN standard port- should be the 4th and 5th sections down on the their web page:

Jeff Mullins is the owner, and he posts on these forums periodically. I bought a swing away adapter from him for my 12-40 port and I'm very happy with the quality. I have no qualms recommending their products.

I have the swing-away adapter as well and am very happy with it. For anyone considering this product, I have one tip. The surface area of the adapter where it contact the lens in quite small, and I had it fall off once because I was afraid of tightening it too much and breaking something. An easy solution is to take a very small amount of something like that gunk that secures your new DAN card or drivers license to the letter it arrives on and apply that inside the rim of the adapter where it contacts the lens. That increases friction and I haven't had any issues since.

Hi James. Are you using the E-PL5 or E-PL7? Can you please share the closest uncropped macro shot with the 14-42mm + diopter?

It would help me to decide wether to get the E-PL6 or E-PL7. Thanks.

I'm actually using the E-PL1, so I don't know how helpful this is, but attached is a picture that hasn't been cropped. Shot with the Inon UCL-165. I don't know if it represents the closest I could have gotten, but it's the best example I have.

Thank you very much James. Is this picture taken with the 14-42mm?

We have recently changed the mount and added an additional set of retaining screws on the rear part of the port. This stops the Swing Away Adapter being able to fall off (if the mount isn't tight enough on the port). Details on our website at: Olympus Flip Mount (Swing Away) Macro Lens Mount
