Hi, I hope somebody can help cos my head is now hurting from trying to get this straight.

I am about to buy my first reg (Apex XTX50 maybe?). My quandry is, although most state that they are ready for up to 40% nitrox blend straight out of the box, the EU says that for blends over 21%, regs must be sold with an M26 din fitting.

I am about to do a 6 month DM internship in Egypt, where this fitting is not used (where is it used I wonder . . don't really see it advertised in the uk).

Do I need to get a nitrox reg (with green flashes and M26 fitting) to use nitrox, and if so would I need to get an adaptor to convert it to a 'normal' DIN (if they do such a thing) for use of air and nitrox abroad?

Thanks for your help folks,
Confused

It is my understanding that this requirement (M26 fitting for nitrox) is largely being ignored by dive shops and the diving community.
