After two months of trying on several different BCs, I am completely comfortable with my decesion to purchase a Diva. My only confusion is that my LDS is persuading me to purchase a DQ and not an LX. His feels that the extra cost doesn't justify the back inflate feature. Being a new diver, I am totally confused. I would love to hear the pros and cons of each jacket, and particularly what the back inflate feature will give me. Oh, I will also be diving in warm HI water twice a year if that makes a difference.

I would say buy the LX. When I was buying my Diva, I asked my LDS owner the difference between the two. He told me that the DQ is for warm water diving ONLY. It really doesn't have as much lift and doesn't have the ability to carry as much weight as the LX.

The LX is a very comfortable BC.

I'm selling my Diva LX if you wanted to look at mine, I haven't posted it on Ebay yet.

My wife tried several different BC's before she purchased hers.
She elected to go with the SeaQuest Libra.
She feels that the back inflate configuration is much more comfortable and allows a great deal more adjustment in the bust area.

I've used my Diva LX in the cold, fresh waters of Ontario for the past year. The back inflation is definately a more preferable feature as it trims you out better than the plain jacket bcd, creates less drag and is more comfortable because you don't have as much of a squeeze around the sides.

If you want to look at mine I am selling it on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=16053&sspagename=STRK:MESSE:IT&rd=1. The only reason I have decided to sell mine is that I have moved to a double tank configuration.

That's the reason I'm selling mine. What have you decided to go with for your new setup?

i would second CanadiaDiverGirl. Back plates and wings are so comfortable (it's
like they're not even there), infintely adjustable, and will make your bouyancy
and trim work SO EASY

you can get a killer Dive Rite BP and wings for $400.00, and you will never outgrow
it in recreational diving.

Back to the Diva LX vs. QD question. The LX is WELL worth it. The front weight pockets clip in, instead of using velcro and the dragon fly design is great. I have used mine in warm and cold waters and havent had ANY complaints!

Back to the Diva LX vs. QD question.

well, we are trying to help as well. i think we are pointing
out that there are other options other than those two.

Sorry everyone...didn't mean to come across harshly. When Sue said she was comfortable with her decision to get a Diva, I figured that is what she had decided on for a BC.

Once again, my apologies.
