I do dive a chest mount.

Leave the inflator in the stock location , it is a non issue to reach under a chest mount even with bulky drygloves and ring systems.
I second that entirely. I dive a chestmount with a dry suit and reaching the inflator is not a problem at all, even with rings for Si-Tech silicone wrist seals and a hardwired dive computer.

Which hand is typically used to inflate. I typically have Predix on right forearm and DiveRite LX20+ on left hand with compass on left forearm. Also is reaching around a CM rebreather to operate a deflater on the shoulder every an issue?

Petrel2 hard wired to the rebreather on my left hand, stand alone as backup on my right one. I use my left hand to inflate my dry suit most of the time. Never had a problem to activate the shoulder dump.

Enough of you diving CM rebreathers has me convinced, inflation location issue is all in my head. My next concern is urchin culling and the drysuit I buy. That is likely a better discussion for the drysuit section.

All in your head, not really. It was my concern as well and it's question I was asked often by BM rebreather users.

One thing with CM rebreather is to check its position on your chest before your very 1st dive : too low or too high it won't (allow you to) breathe correctly and will be cumbersome.

My next concern is urchin culling

Don't cull urchins ! Eat them instead ! :p Ok, I'll see myself out.

Well not so much when I built this rebreather but certainly when I built the harness
something must have happened as I can barely get my fingers in there to clip it off

Almost can't get myself in there either, so a valve on the chest, and a hand no way

It's eye opening these scenarios from people about stuff that only applies to them

The chest mounted valve has always been a pain and only recently have they been
experimenting with exhaust postion something that's been governed by the zipper

Fortunately when I order a dry suit it's no valves, so I can fit them, where they work

Yes. And i move inflator valve to upper right thigh. I don't want to crawl either of my palms
in dry gloves under rebreather to reach valve.
